The Town Hall office assists businesses in obtaining the Occupational Tax Certificate along with other required licenses needed for operation in the Town of Sharpsburg. All forms and applications can be found on this page or by coming by the office. We accept cash and check only at this time.


The Town of Sharpsburg is accepting applications for the position of Town Clerk.  This position is open until it is filled.  A complete job description and application are available during working hours at the Sharpsburg Town Hall, 105 Main Street, Sharpsburg, 30277 or on the Town website at  This is a part time position for up to 30 hours per week.  Salary compensate with level of experience.  All applications are subject to open records law and a successful applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.


High School Diploma (or GED) required.  Experience as a Municipal Clerk preferred or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required site knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Applicants who possess a Certified Municipal Clerk Certification are preferred, but not necessary, but if not applicant must attend the mandatory 15 hour Clerk’s training class and be willing to work toward certification. Applicants must have accounting experience.  Municipal experience would be a big plus.
